About

Hi, My name is Dr Samina Rashid and I am the director of the Luton South Kip McGrath Education centre www.kipmcgrath.co.uk. Find us on Google maps.

I am also a mum of two (age 13 and 4). I’ve helped my 13 year old with his 11 plus exams and year 6 SATs, and now my 4 year old is raring to go to follow in his footsteps.

Despite being a teacher, I can’t teach my own children.  And this is a common topic of conversation amongst the parents that I see at my centre.  I will either lose patience too quickly or teach more than I need to.  Parents often tell me that they end up confusing their children when they try to help with homework.  So often I am looking for advice and tips on how to help with homework, or how to explain a particular concept… and that’s one of the reasons why I have started this blog.  To share my findings, and to help other parents in the same dilemma as me.

My interest in teaching and learning goes back to when I was teenager and I remember teaching my fellow classmates at college. I can connect with children instantly and make them feel at ease.  I communicate with passion and I love passing on knowledge and want to share my expertise with the world. I am passionate about my job and I want to provide a professional, reliable and worthwhile tuition service to children (and parents) who come to my centre.
